Australia's national airline, Qantas, has just announced that its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will fly to Hong Kong from December 2018!. As of current, Qantas operates the Airbus A330 aircraft, Boeing 747-400 aircraft (due to be retired from service in 2020) and the Airbus A380 aircraft to Hong Kong. The announcement of the new destination for the 787-9 Dreamliner, compliments its existing routes to Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London.
The Dreamliner offers a very quiet , smooth and fuel and environmentally efficient ride. Qantas has configured the 787-9 Dreamliner in business class, premium economy and economy configuration. There are 42 business class seats in 1-2-1 configuration, offering each business class passenger direct aisle access with lie flat beds, large and responsive TV screens, as well as powerpoints for your electronic devices and nice cancelling headphones. There are 28 premium economy seats in 2-3-2 configuration and 166 economy seats in 3-3-3 configuration. The absence of first class is typical, as most airlines have now ditched first class and focused their business class and introduction of premium economy.
