Qantas Airways tonight will launch its inaugural direct Melbourne to San Francisco flights!. The flight time will be approximately 14 hours duration. This will save passengers from having to disembark at Los Angeles and then connect to their domestic flight to San Francisco. Trans Tasman neighbour airline, Air New Zealand, has already been flying direct to San Francisco from Auckland for awhile now. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be operating the MEL-SFO route which means enhanced comfort, a smoother and more quiet flight, thus, making the 14 hour flight much more manageable.
