Hello Hello!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have been extremely busy with work and study commitments. I went to the National Gallery of Victoria today ,located on St Kilda Road, Federation Square, as it was a moody and coolish Spring day today. For art lovers all over the world, interstate or even if you're just a local, the NGV is a Melbourne icon that must be visited!.

The National Gallery of Victoria has incredible diverse collections from all around the world ranging from oil paintings on canvas to contemporary art and everything in between!. To see the general artwork collection, entry IS free, however if you would like to see exhibitions which do change, you will need to pay . Pricing varies for the current exhibitions which include : Civilisation, KAWS: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness, Still Together and Haring Basquiat. For pricing, head to the National Gallery of Victoria website as it may vary or change.

The general artwork collection which I saw, has an incredible 75,000 pieces of art on display !. The categories of artwork include:Asian Art, Australian Art ,Contemporary Art, Contemporary Design and Architecture, Decorative Arts, Fashion and Textiles, Indigenous Art, International Art , Photography, and Graphic Prints and Drawings.

The collections I saw were from Asian Art, Decorative Arts and International Arts.

My favourite pieces of artwork were the European, British and North American oil paintings. A lot of the world's most talented and well known artists have originated from the said regions . The type of art movements in oil painting vary from Cubism to Still Life to Surrealism to Pop Art to name a few!. The below photos are selections of my highlight artwork canvases.

Mont Saint Michel, Cornwall by Clarkson Stanfield. To me this looks very chaotic, with so much happening in the painting with large seas, a majestic castle perched high above on a cliff and ships struggling to stay afloat

Question of Propriety by Edwin Long. It shows a Gypsy Dancer brought before the Spanish Inquisition on the charge of corrupting public morals.Captivated by her performance, the holy censors lean forward , their stern features softened with wonderment and pleasure

The Uphill Road by Paul Cezanne. Beautiful scenic painting with lots of green fields somewhere in country France!.

Anguish by August Friedrich Schenck . My favourite oil painting on Canvas. This quite morbid painting conveys strong emotions resonating with the viewer
