The day kicked off with getting on the MRT to HarbourFront , having the same breakfast as yesterday. I then went to Universal Studios on Sentosa Island!. This was my second time, having last been in 2010. I have also been to Universal Studios in Orlando , Florida, USA and Los Angeles , California, USA. There is so much to see and do at US , there are amusement rides, entertainment, meet and greets, and diners.

"New York"

Part of an American themed diner i had lunch at!. "Mel's".

My first ride was on the Jurassic Parks Rapids Adventure where I did get wet but not totally drenched :P. After the raft, I went on the Battlestar Galactica: Cylon which actually is in sync with another rollercoaster Human, which I eventually went on later. It was hard to tell which one was more heart stopping! . Following that I went on “Revenge of the Mummy” an indoor high speed roller coaster which for the most part is in pitch black with lots of sound and lighting effects!. Next was the much more tame “Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey a rollercoaster for a much more inclusive age audience.

Mixing it up a bit was “ Donkey Live”, where Donkey from Shrek interacted and made the audience laugh with his renown humour. After a significant downpour and lightning, in which i got quite drenched seeing as I was on the very fun roller coaster Battlestar Galactica: Human and then running (failing epically as i was wearing thongs ) I went to WaterWorld which is an exciting stunt show on the water involving jet ski , plane , machine guns, shotguns, explosions and awesome effects!. Afterwards, I returned to go 2 more times on Battlestar Galactica : Cylon. I sure am an adrenalin junkie :P.

The fiery conclusion of the show! Literally going out with a bang.

After a full day at Universal Studios, I got a monorail to Beach Monorail Station and walked to Palawan Beach to have a dip in the warm salty waters of the Singapore Strait. It truely is a beautiful place to swim or just relax in. Getting a monorail back to Vivo Centre, I then went back on the MRT to Chinatown!.Chinatown is full of hawkers selling authentic (and very yummy) Chinese food, gift shops decorated with lanterns and souvenirs . It is in a perfect location with Chinatown MRT station right in the heart of it, and has a lively , vibrant atmosphere . Where I enjoyed fried rice it is undercover so is enjoyable all weather round!.

I took the Singapore MRT (train ) today to breakfast. I hopped on the nearest station which is Newton, then got off at Little India, and changed lines to get to Harbour Front. Breakfast this morning was at Harbour Front, at a cafe inside Vivo shopping centre called “Gastronomia” an Italian styled cafe, I had a simple breakfast of croissant and a caramel latte.

After breakfast I headed across the bridge to Sentosa Island, to explore . It is home to Universal Studios, hotels , Palawan Beach , S.E.A Aquarium Marine Life Park, Maritime Museum and a shopping centre.

I then took a monorail ( a fantastic way to get around the island) to Beach Station. After disembarking I walked to Palawan Beach, a beautiful slice of heaven on Earth with jade green waters, water playground for children, palm trees and a swaying bridge to get to the look outs with 360 views around, one side facing the ports filled with cargo ships and the other looking down onto the beach.

I then got back on the monorail and went to the S.E.A Aquarium Marine Life Park, (you’ll have to walk through some of the Maritime Museum to get to it) home to many marine animals such as sharks, stingrays , jellyfish, many species of fish and much more!. I then had a delicious Nutella cupcake from Twelve Cupcakes (Name something more salivating than Nutella? ).

Getting the train back, I went to the hotel and got a very relaxing massage “Relax” with a fantastic Malay masseur really using her hands well and then helping me to a ginger tea of which I have frequently said become hooked on.

Dinner was supposed to be at the hawkers markets but the weather gods decided to disagree and sent down the rains, thunder and lighting which meant I was confined to staying at the hotel, but enjoyed a great buffet with steamed rice, sugar chicken and stir fry noodles topped off with chocolate mousse as my selection for dessert.

My first full day spent in Singapore kicked off with breakfast at Common Man Coffee Roasters , a trendy cafe which serves high quality and sustainable coffee!. I ordered home made granola with fresh fruits and Greek honey yogurt!.

After filling my stomach, I then took a cab to the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino!. The complex is honestly mind blowing in terms of opulence . It has high end designer stores such as Chanel, Gucci, Dior, Chloe and more, and a boat ride up and down a man made river !. After walking out to the boardwalk, I had my digital camera at the ready and started snapping , the first object being the very aesthetically pleasing Louis Vuitton (which even has its name on the dock). Next up was the lotus flower shaped ArtScience Museum, which you cannot miss!. I then crossed the bridge to the other side where the Merlion Fountain is and then sat down in the shade to cool off, with ice cream and water to hydrate myself. Continuing I then found myself in the impressively grand Fullerton Hotel on Collyer Quay, with a wide dining area and preceding massive lobby with a equally massive chandelier!.

Having done a full circle, I was back at the Marina Bay Sands, and decided to go up to Sands SkyPark to really appreciate the view of Singapore from 56 stories high!. From there, I could view the port filled with cargo ships, the Grand Prix Circuit that hosts the Singapore Grand Prix in September every year, a golf course, the river and the city skyline and Ferris Wheel!. It was truely an incredible view, there’s also a bar you can enjoy drinks on and you can see the iconic pool, but don’t have public access to, unless you’re a guest.

Leaving Marina Bay Sands, I took a taxi to Gardens by the Bay to see the amazing Super Trees, well as see the amazing types of plant and trees there, in and out of the huge contemporary green houses there. The gardens are home to diverse species of trees and plants hailing from all over the world . I first visited the “Flower Dome” where there were all sorts of cacti, palm trees, boab trees and ferns to name a few, there were also very beautiful Chinese lanterns celebrating the Chinese New Year to come and an inspiring artistic figures of a family with half of them ripped off symbolising when they are at the airport leaving to go home, half of them stays at Gardens by the Bay. I then went to the “Cloud Forest” showcasing a gigantic lush forest simulating a tropical highlands environment with a tall waterfall!. You can take the stairs or elevator to the 6th level which is the top. My highlights were orchids and the carnivorous plants such as the Venus Flytrap .

Dinner tonight was at the vibrant Clarke Quay filled with locals and tourists alike, live music, and lots of restaurants by the river!. What an eventful first full day :D.
