Continuing on from my previous review, which was my domestic flight to Brisbane with Qantas Airways (https://s00144834.wixsite.com/infinitetraveller/blog/qantas-airways-boeing-737-800-qf626-review-3-01-2018). I will share my review of my international flight, on Hawaiian Airlines flight 444, on the 3rd of January, 2018. This was my first time flying Hawaiian Airlines, as i previously flew on Jetstar, the previous two times to Honolulu also from Brisbane. However Jetstar, no longer flies to Honolulu from Brisbane, and it was already in effect when I booked the trip to Honolulu.

Hawaiian Airways Flight 444, is a late evening flight out of Brisbane to Honolulu. Hawaiian Airlines operates an Airbus A330-200 on the route. My plane was registered N386HA, a 6 and a half year old A330-200, in the standard Hawaiian Airlines livery. As soon as I boarded, I felt immediately relaxed, as the cabin crew were wearing the Hawaiian shirts, and Hawaiian music played throughout the cabin.Economy is in 2-4-2 configuration, and my seat was 38G, right on the aisle, which was very convenient, and felt less cramped in. If you want extra room, "Extra Comfort" is the way to go.

Our departure was slightly late, due to the captain wanting to avoid some turbulence and ensure a smoother flight. There was no wifi available, but there was in flight entertainment to kill time. After getting up and away, the first meal was dinner, although it was served in bags and I wasn't sure if I could call that a proper meal. Due to 2-4-2 configuration, it was cramped, though consolation was that the TV screens were of decent size for economy travellers. As we got closer to arriving into Honolulu, breakfast was served. As I was very hungry, (having not had the dinner meal and due to entering a different time zone) I decided to just fill myself up.

Overall, the flight time was 9 hours and 12 minutes. My pros of Hawaiian Airlines, were that the A330 is quiet and is a wide-body (which means more rooms as a result of an additional aisle, and the size of the TV screens. My cons were average food and service.

I shall be reviewing my flight on Qantas flight 626 in economy from Melbourne to Brisbane on the 3rd of January 2018. This is a old review, but nonetheless thought I'd put it up.

As I was flying Hawaiian Airlines to Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii , (seeing that Hawaiian Airlines does not fly direct from Melbourne), I needed to catch a domestic flight to Brisbane (Hawaiian Airlines also operate from Sydney). My trip to Brisbane from Melbourne, was with Qantas, on a Boeing 737-800 registered VH-VXU, which has the older Qantas livery, and operated as QF626. I was flying economy, which is in 3-3-3 configuration on the Qantas 737-800s, but I had the window seat, which made up for it. In addition, both business and economy had recently been refurbished, therefore making seats in both classes more comfortable.

Our departure was slightly late, but once we got underway, everything went by quickly. On Qantas flights no matter what class you are flying in, depending on the duration of the flight , you get meals provided. In this case, because it was just a short hop to Brisbane, I had cheese and crackers, with a cookie that came later. Though there was no in flight wifi on this specific 737-800, (Qantas is currently installing wifi across their entire domestic/international 737-800 fleet and soon their domestic/international A330 fleet) the total flight time was only 1 hour and 45 minutes in duration, and therefore rendered no need to get on wifi. It was a smooth flight overall and the economy was sufficient for my short haul flight.
