I took the Singapore MRT (train ) today to breakfast. I hopped on the nearest station which is Newton, then got off at Little India, and changed lines to get to Harbour Front. Breakfast this morning was at Harbour Front, at a cafe inside Vivo shopping centre called “Gastronomia” an Italian styled cafe, I had a simple breakfast of croissant and a caramel latte.
After breakfast I headed across the bridge to Sentosa Island, to explore . It is home to Universal Studios, hotels , Palawan Beach , S.E.A Aquarium Marine Life Park, Maritime Museum and a shopping centre.
I then took a monorail ( a fantastic way to get around the island) to Beach Station. After disembarking I walked to Palawan Beach, a beautiful slice of heaven on Earth with jade green waters, water playground for children, palm trees and a swaying bridge to get to the look outs with 360 views around, one side facing the ports filled with cargo ships and the other looking down onto the beach.
I then got back on the monorail and went to the S.E.A Aquarium Marine Life Park, (you’ll have to walk through some of the Maritime Museum to get to it) home to many marine animals such as sharks, stingrays , jellyfish, many species of fish and much more!. I then had a delicious Nutella cupcake from Twelve Cupcakes (Name something more salivating than Nutella? ).
Getting the train back, I went to the hotel and got a very relaxing massage “Relax” with a fantastic Malay masseur really using her hands well and then helping me to a ginger tea of which I have frequently said become hooked on.
Dinner was supposed to be at the hawkers markets but the weather gods decided to disagree and sent down the rains, thunder and lighting which meant I was confined to staying at the hotel, but enjoyed a great buffet with steamed rice, sugar chicken and stir fry noodles topped off with chocolate mousse as my selection for dessert.
